Buildings 57/59 were brought to market in line with Land & Property Services guidance. Following an open market process a preferred bidder was identified and the business opened in December 2015 as Ollie’s Café.
Using locally sourced produce, Ollie’s Café offers an extensive menu from 9am to late, seven days a week.
The existing front extension was demolished and the building was fully refurbished to provide a high specification 40-seat café and allied retail accommodation. The business also provides WCs accessible for users of the Ebrington site. This new venture supports 16 jobs, between full-time and part-time positions.
Ilex ensured that the criteria for identification of the preferred bidder were in line with the ethos of the One Plan. Tenants were therefore required to demonstrate their approach and commitment to job creation, skills development and sustainability.
