25th November 2014

It’s time to get the skates on in Derry as Legenderry on Ice returns for a second year to Ebrington Square.  Building on last year’s success, the organisers have this year increased the size of the rink by 33% to 800 sq. metres. In addition, 2014  sees the introduction of a new dedicated kiddie rink, where younger children can skate together with the use, where required, of the popular “Bobby the Seal” skate aids.

“The fact that we have built a bigger rink this year and added the separate rink for younger children, reflects the very positive reaction we received from the city last year. We are delighted to return and we think people will love the extra space” says organiser Brian Magee.

Legenderry on Ice forms part of a bigger presentation at Ebrington this year, with the Christmas Markets, Christmas Funfair, Festive Film Factory and Spiegeltent combining to create a special Christmas village atmosphere. The emphasis will be on providing hours of quality family entertainment and activity in one venue. In response to numerous requests, the ice rink will also have a special seated area in the marquee for childrens’ birthday parties.

An opening day walk-up offer on Friday, November 28th keeps all single prices at £8 for one hours skating. With an emphasis on value, Legenderry on Ice has maintained  last year’s prices and also offers group rates and family tickets. School groups can also be accommodated outside normal opening times by prior arrangement.

Legenderry on Ice is delighted to have the opportunity to support its charity partner MS Society, Foyle Branch.
