Ebrington Parade Ground to reflect the City’s past, present – and future

8th September 2011

Ilex, the urban regeneration company today announced its intention to bury a time capsule in Ebrington Parade Ground as part of its official launch in December.

Mo Durkan, Head of Communications at Ilex said: “We would like to place a time capsule in the Parade Ground which, in time, could give future generations a sense of what this city was like in 2011 - or at any time in our past. We’re keen to include items which give an idea of how we lived, the events that shaped us, and our hopes for the future. The capsule will be buried as part of the opening ceremony and we would love to hear people’s ideas as to what we should place in it”.

When complete, the Parade Ground will be the largest public space in the city. The official opening is scheduled for December 2011.
