HALLOWEEN AT EBRINGTON
From 28th October to 1st November, Ebrington will host three immersive events celebrating local folklore, creativity, and the spirit of the season.
The first event is The Cailleach at The Keep, where audiences can experience the myth of the Cailleach, queen of winter, brought to life through a live, youth-led performance accompanying a looping animated film. Each brief performance introduces this storied figure, the “veiled one,” symbolising transformation and guardianship of life. Organised by the Waterside Neighbourhood Partnership, the piece connects audiences to a powerful legend that ushers in the winter season.
As night falls from 28th-30th October, Elemental World will transform Ebrington Gardens into an illuminated wonderland, blending light, height, and fire. Glowing towers will surround the gardens while fiery sculptures animate the space, creating a spectacular walkthrough avenue. Costumed performers will enhance the scene, moving throughout the installations to narrate and interact with the displays, crafting an atmosphere rich in visual and narrative artistry. LUXE’s stunning showcase invites the community to explore this captivating landscape across three nights.
Finally, The Blue Guardian will be featured each evening from 28th-30th October, with performances at 6:30pm and 7:30pm. This hauntingly beautiful show draws on local folklore as the spirit of the Blue Guardian reunites with the children she once cared for, blending the past with the present in song and dance. The eerie yet enchanting procession will gather on the Peace Bridge, infusing the area with wonder and imagination.
